Early Black Friday · October 2026

Black Friday VPN offers start early. What actually got cheaper?

Proton VPN, IPVanish and PureVPN have started their Black Friday offers. Our earlier price captures show a more mixed picture than the sale banners: lower payments on some plans, an unchanged two-year price and a new five-year commitment.

By · Published · US offers in USD

Black Friday falls on November 27 in 2026, but the first campaigns are already running a month ahead. That does not give them a shared end date. Each provider can change its prices, terms and availability separately.

The useful question is how an offer compares with what a reader could buy before the campaign. A percentage against the provider’s regular monthly rate answers a different question. We checked the same tier, market, currency and service period against earlier captured offers.

Proton VPN and IPVanish show measurable reductions

Proton VPN Plus has the largest percentage reduction among the comparable plans in this check. Its 24-month payment fell from $71.76 in our October 26 capture to $59.76: $12 less, or 16.7%. The service period remains 24 months. Proton Unlimited’s $77.88 annual offer is also in the comparison, but we do not have a matching earlier annual capture to calculate its pre-sale reduction.

IPVanish’s two-year tiers also cost less than in our October 15 captures. Essential fell by $4.80; Complete and Advanced each fell by $7.20. Complete has the largest percentage reduction of those three because its earlier payment was lower than Advanced’s.

PureVPN: a new five-year price, not a confirmed cut on the same term

We reviewed 106 retained collector snapshots, including 104 distinct captures with fresh PureVPN observations. The Standard two-year plan was $58.20 for 27 months in our Aug 11, 2026 capture. That payment and duration stayed the same in the later captured observations through October 27.

The five-year Standard plan first appears in our captures on Oct 24, 2026. At $101.55 for 60 months, its advertised $1.69 monthly equivalent is lower than the two-year option’s. It also requires a larger upfront payment and a longer commitment. There is no earlier matching five-year observation in this record, so we cannot call it a measured pre-sale price cut.

The annual Standard plan needs particular care. On Oct 23, 2026, $40.80 bought 16 months: 12 paid months plus four extra. In the Oct 24, 2026 campaign capture, the same $40.80 covered 12 months. Its effective cost rose from $2.55 to $3.40 per service month. The unchanged payment buys fewer months.

PureVPN Standard: distinguish the payment from the duration.
PlanBefore the campaignCaptured campaign offerWhat changed?
Two-year$58.20 / 27 months$58.20 / 27 monthsNo recorded price reduction
Annual$40.80 / 16 months$40.80 / 12 monthsFour fewer bonus months
Five-yearNo matching earlier capture$101.55 / 60 monthsNew term in our record

This does not make the five-year option unsuitable for everyone. It means its lower monthly equivalent should be judged against the commitment, rather than presented as proof that an existing five-year price fell.

What to check before buying an early offer

Compare the full payment, the number of service months and the renewal bill. A two-year introductory deal can renew annually, and a privacy bundle is useful only if you need the additional products. Where our capture does not expose a renewal amount, the comparison marks it as undisclosed.

There is no evidence here that waiting until November 27 will produce a lower price. There is also no basis for calling these offers the lowest they will reach. If a plan already fits your needs, check the provider’s checkout and refund conditions; if you only need a VPN briefly, compare shorter subscriptions or a suitable free plan first.

Sources and comparison limits

The figures come from retained provider-page captures. PureVPN’s history was checked back to August 11, including the October 23 pre-campaign capture and the first five-year observation on October 24. A first observation is not an independently verified launch time. Uncaptured prices or country-specific offers may differ.

For Proton, the recorded comparison includes the reviewed move of the same partner offer to its Black Friday page. Unrelated offer routes are not treated as interchangeable. The observations do not establish a continuous price, an all-time low or a statutory prior-price benchmark. Local taxes may apply.
